Greetings,

As we wrap up the final quarter, we’re winding down nicely. In ELA we are doing a novel study of E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Web. I too enjoyed this story as a third grader, so it has been a pleasure to share the book with the kids. We’ll watch the film on the last day of school.

In science we worked up to a “challenge” to demonstrate lunar phases. After studying the terms and viewing the lunar sequence online, I handed out equal shares of materials and let the kids devise models for the lunar phases. Together the small groups exercised their knowledge and creativity.

By the way, the results of last week’s science experiment, done by an US student, suggested chewing gum can improve mathematical skills. Further testing is needed.

Enjoy the snapshots and your weekend.

As always,

Mr. Johnson
