Greetings!
Learning this week included revising realistic fiction. The video here shows 3A doing smart work. Hop around the clip and get a look at our typical 3rd grade morning.
The kids also experimented with pulleys & string, inclined planes, and levers & fulcrums on the jungle gyms. I challenged our promising engineers and scientists to design and then test a method to raise a water bottle using those simple machines. Watching them puzzle out the task was fun. We'll do a bit more next week.
All of the kids were quite calm but clearly aware of Sunday's Bassam tragedy. Your consoling proved effective. Many 3rd graders contributed touching thoughts to the school's memorial, which was a healthy step forward.
Enjoy our photos and, as always, stay safe!
