Greetings!

We have begun our new ELA unit on creative writing. The kids are drafting essays now. Their ideas range from reasonable to wacky. Wish us luck.

We have started what will be several hands-on activities with simple machines. The 3B kids measured load reduction using an inclined plane and spring gauge. The 3A kids were lucky to come across a man using a hammer to increase the force he exerted to position bricks. Next week, we'll all get to hammer nails and turn screws.

For our weekly Time Travel we visited 8th grade ELA. Mrs. Gallogray’s class was an insightful and fun peek at the future.

IN SITES: I wanted to share information about screen time and kids. The pool of data was huge, so I settled on this article from Psychology Today: Gray Matters: Too Much Screen Time Damages the Brain

One last things: Several kids lack pencils or a water bottle. Please inventory your child's supplies and see that she or he is prepared for school. A small AWA water bottle with the child's name is a quick, reusable solution. Thanks.

Enjoy your weekend and keep safe!
